This Green Tour of Italy has been postponed until October 2011.
After the tremendous success of this past October’s Green Tour of Italy, John Boecker of 7group/Umbrella Green Network, Alberto Ballardini of Habitech/GBC Italia, and Lauren Yarmuth of YRG Sustainability will be guiding a second tour this spring. This Sustainability in Ancient and Contemporary Italian Architecture tour will be sponsored by Habitech and the Umbrella Green Network in collaboration with Viaggi di Architettura, and is designed to provide a current perspective on place, culture, design, food and trends that are the foundations of a sustainable built environment.
The tour will visit contemporary and historic hubs of architectural and design innovation, including exploration of ancient, medieval, renaissance and current sites in Venice, Riva del Garda, Rovereto, Verona, Bologna, Florence and Rome, a motorboat tour up the Brenta River starting in Venice, dinner with Mario Zoccatelli (President of GBC Italia), a visit to Mario Cucinella’s green architecture studios, local organic Slow Food meals, and wine-tasting. The tour will start in Venice on April 14 and conclude in Rome on April 21.
Participants can earn 40 AIA Learning Units and/or GBCI Continuing Education Hours. This exclusive offer is available only for a small group, so space is limited; tour deposits must be made by February 14, 2011.
