As part of a week-long Regenerative Design course that John Boecker is teaching with Bill Reed and Joel Glanzberg at Yestermorrow (from June 19th through 24th), John will present a free two-hour lecture, Integrative Design: The Key to Cost-Effective Green Building. This lecture will focus on the crucial design shift needed to move from buildings that are simply low impact to designs that are restorative and regenerative. Exploring the conceptual key points of integrative design and learning from completed case studies, the talk will illuminate how this approach is a cost-effective means for achieving high performance.  The lecture will also explore how whole systems thinking, understanding the building as an organism, analyzing systems interrelationships, and utilizing natural systems can lead to restorative and regenerative results with concrete examples from completed projects.

The lecture is scheduled for Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 7 to 9 pm at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School located in Waitsfield, Vermont. To learn more and register for this free lecture, please visit http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=168886969839102.
